Doggies for free...

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
She is currently advertising retired AKC Champion breeders free to a good home. I think she needs to close down this business and retire. I would not trust this woman enough to adopt a dog directly from her, because I wouldn't sign a contract with her, but a rescue organization might want to get involved.

She offers retired females after are no longer used for breeding, this is very common in all breeds. Obviously she didn’t feel you were the right fit for one of her dogs. Her dogs are wonderful.

Guest

What business is it of yours if someone wants to place one of their dogs for free? Go live your own life and quit running other people down out of spite.

Since when does giving a dog to someone constitute a crime? Or mean anything other than some people are more generous and sharing than others.

Sold Puppy with Seizures and Lies, Lies, Lies. Took to Magistrate.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I had bought a puppy from someone working in conjunction with Sue Mayborne of Shoreland.. What a MISTAKE!!!

First, advertised the border collie with AKC Papers, then refused to give the papers with the dog. Sue would never answer any calls. No option but to file suit at Magistrate. Court date came and judge ordered to either surrender papers to me or refund 100% of purchase price, and I keep the dog.

Under court order, I received a check for purchase price and court costs. (I have all the paperwork to prove what I am saying.) Later, the dog starts having seizures. Many years of medication and lots of Vet Bills. Needs to clean up her blood line..

but how can she know when you can never get a hold of her. Obviously she only cares about the $$$ and not the dogs! My border collie died at the young age of 8 years old as a result of all the phenobarbital and potassium bromide needed to control the seizures!

My advice... Buy a dog from a more reputable breeder!!!

You need to use the name of person you bought puppy from and not slander someone. This was a lie. This never went to court.

Guest

We know nothing about this. Just because the dog has a shoreland dog in its background doesn’t make us the breeders.

Or responsible party. We have NEVER had seizures in our dogs. We never went to court with this person. Not sure what she’s talking about.

Lies.

Lies. Lies.

Shoreland kennel is disgusting

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

the poor 50 something dogs sue has trapped there live covered in their ***. are stuck in a 9x13 foot cage only get fed 2 to 3 small cups once a day.

are forced to run through and eat ***. she breeds dogs way too young and way too old. and when the puppies are born if they survive long enough they get ripped from their mother before 6 weeks.

horrible place with no air curculation so the ammonia is so strong its hard to breath. i do not recommend.

I totally agree with you as i bought a border collie back in 2012 from this terrible place.First we were to get a 8 week old puppy when we arrived to get the puppy now grant you we live in Northern Michigan she had stated to us that she sold the puppy the day before to a couple from Wisconsin. Talk about a pissed off customer so she then replied wait let me go see what i have!

WHAT does that mean what she has.Well a few minutes later she came back into her kitchen with a medium size pup who was so scared and yellow and black no white well anyway she said it was a 4 month old. We took her outside and the pup was biting at tree by her porch the air and when she got off the porch she army crawled on the grass that meant to us that she had never been outside.Sue left us with the pup do see how she would do with us and went back inside to get the paperwork. That was a joke to the paperwork.Need less to say we took that poor pup .When we got her home the vet said she was 8 months old,ear infection with ear mites and it took two bathes to try to get her hair white again.

She is a wonderful, loving smart dog but took us a long time to get there. I feel sorry for any dog that comes from this place.

Lies, Lies, and more Lies. These dogs live on 40 acres and have their own dog park.

Have a gorgeous home to live in. Creek running through the property for dogs to swim in.

They have experienced hired help which help groom, exercise, socialize, clean, and help feed the dogs. All dogs in very healthy and happy conditions.

I work at this facility. Not true. So full of lies.

Might be she didn’t want to sell you a puppy. Did you ever think of that.

I know she’s very selective where her puppies go. The homes are very important to them.

Must be a good loving home that gives the best of care and love to their dogs. She is always responsive.

She only sees the animals as $$$ and numbers. If you ever saw how she treated them you would understand. Dogs she's known for a while are a different story.

Best Breeder Ever

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

We bought a Border from Sue the following ear an Aussie. Both dogs were wonderful companions.

We lost our Border when he was 13 and our Aussie just recently when she had just turned 14-1/2. Beautiful dogs and wonderful companions. Sue has the best dogs and she does a marvelous job in providing healthy animals. Her kennel is clean, the puppies have lots of play room and always look healthy and clean.

I would not hesitate to recommend her if you are looking for a healthy happy puppy or show dog.

Our dogs were wonderful, loving pets and we were so sad when they passed. Fred and Pat Pfeifer

All of the dogs are very healthy and health tested. Even DNA tested for inheritable diseases. Also the best temperaments.

Guest

you're one of the few that's had a good experience. Most dogs from here are sick and not socialized and the parents are not health tested.

she breeds dogs under 2 yrs of age and often doesn't know the true parentage of the puppies. I've see the conditions and they are not good.

Wonderful breeder and resource

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

So sad to see ignorant people making personal attacks on a very experienced, wonderful breeder. As if breeders try to produce puppies with health problems!

If you are looking for a red merle (doesn't say Aussie or BC), that is already a smaller genetic pool. Depending on the time of year, puppies may not have a lot of outside experience. Alone, they may well freeze, that is not diagnostic of hearing problems. I bought a wonderful, loving BC from Sue, and will get my next dog there, when it is time for another.

No breeder sets out to produce problems, many of which show up after pups have found homes. Check your contract, she has a very generous return/replacement policy.

Trying to sell a deaf puppy

October 16th, 2009 Sue, tried to sell me a deaf puppy. A red merle border collie. At that time She did have a large yard but nothing fenced for the dogs to run in that I could see. We were not allowed to enter the dog area, but could hear the constant barking and the smell was disgusting. She did not know what puppy we were there to pick up and after bringing out three puppies we found the one. The puppy would not move on the ground. I asked her to please call the puppy the way she calls them to feed them. Sue refused to call the puppy because she did not call them to feed them. She expected us to call it, I thought maybe it would go to a familiar voice. I asked to pick out a different puppy and she refused to let me choose from the other available ones that she had stated earlier were available. She demanded that I take the one I came for and went on and on about the pedigree, but I told her I was not living with a pedigree I was going to be living/training the puppy for a client. This was a puppy that I was picking for a client, not myself. That is part of what I do for a living. So, I can recognize an under socialized deaf puppy when I see one. The puppy had a rash and some missing hair on its belly, the back and rest of the body looked ok, well except for the dandruff. Sue said it was from the wood chips, and maybe the puppy was allergic to it or possibility the food. She said that red puppies had sensitive skin and allergies. I did not appreciate being yelled at and the swearing was not needed that followed. Needless to say I walked away without a puppy and will stop right there with what happened. She would not return the buyers phone calls to talk about the deposit or the possibility of getting a different puppy. If I had seen this site earlier I would have commented a long time ago. The attached photo is the puppy frozen on the ground and not moving no matter what sound or movement was done around the puppy. My husband and myself both tried to get the puppy to respond to something. An older female dog was brought out and the puppy did not move, it was suppose to be the mother of the puppy, but the puppy still did not move. So not sure about that dog being the mother, and that dog was also nervous about the whole thing and shaking while outside seemed very skittish being on a leash and outside.

Wow!! What lies!

She has 2 acres fenced in for the dogs. Lives on 40 acres in the middle of nowhere. Creek on her property for dogs to swim in. Special puppy room attached to house.

Indoor kennels. Heated. Beautiful and clean facility.

Illinois and AKC inspected and approved. Very healthy puppies with loving temperaments.

KENNELS ARE NOT HEATED. HOW DO YOU HEAT A CATTLE BARN.

HAS 3-4 DOGS IN ONE KENNEL. HAS A FAN IN THE BUILDING THAT HAS NOT WORKED FOR YEARS.

HOW SHE EVER PASSED THE AKC INSPECTION IS BEYOND ME.

PUPS ARE NEVER SOCIALIZED AND CANNOT EVEN WALK THRU A DOORWAY.

SHE IS A BREEDER JUST OUT FOR THE MONEY.

PUPPY MILL PRACTICES FOR SURE.

This is a total lie.Her dogs are in crates in the 3 stall garage attached to her house. They live in there own urine, and poop.We got a pup from here 5 years ago and she was a mess, shes a border and her white was brown, she had ear infections in both ears but cause was not and i mean not taken care of properly. The said she was 4 months old when we brought her home and took her to the vet they said no way this pup is 4 months old she's at least 8 months. We were there originally to get a 8 week pup when we arrived she said she sold are dog the day before. We had traveled from Northern Michigan to get are pup and she sold it.Then when she said let me go see what i have we were about to leave she came back into her kitchen with a new pup she said lets go see how she does with you.Well we got outside, the pup stood there biting at the grass, air, trees we dont think she had ever been outside!!!

Just brook are hearts. We took her and gave her a life she well needed. She still has a few issue but we love her so much. That is the only thing a can say about this horrible place is it did sell us a great girl. its been a struggle as she new nothing but we didnt give up on her like they did.

Wonderful Breeder!

This can't be true, because I have been to their gorgeous home.. They have 40 acres for the dogs, so it is like their own dog park! Bought the property, and built the home for the dogs! They have hired help that also help with socializing, and caring for the dogs! This is merely one person telling stories that are not true! What a shame that this website even exists. It does nothing but tries to cause problems for people, and create negativity about people. You don't see many kind things on this website.so it is a shame that it exists.

I wouldn't buy a dog from anywhere else. We love our puppy from Shoreland. Very healthy and playful. Very outgoing, and smart. Learns very quickly. Excellent condition. I would go back to get another one like many people have. Most of the border collie bloodlines go back to Shoreland that are out there winning. Shoreland has been a good mentor and always there for us. They have taken a lot of time answering any questions we have. Their kennel is beautiful. It's a shame a few people have lied and tried to ruin someone that has given everything to the sport of dogs like this breeder has..........Jealousy I guess.

Resolved: STAY AWAY FROM SHORELAND KENNEL keep your dogs under lock and key

do not buy anything from this woman. her dogs are all kenneled in runs and at times as seen by an eyewitness with NO water or food.

she has 4-6 dogs in one 4x6 runs and she mixes the aussies and the border collies. so if you are dumb enough to buy something from her have it DNA'd. also whatever you do no matter where you go keep your dog under lock and key. she has broken into hotel rooms and stolen dogs.

she has sent her flunkies to dog shows to wait until the owner is not around and they steal the dogs. she steals them and then quickly ships them overseas for HUGE money. her puppies are ALWAYS sick again seen by an eye witness. so none of this is 2nd or third hand.

if she runs out of room in her kennel she puts them in a crate in her van which is in her garage in the middle of summer with NO air conditioning or ventilation. please people there are so very many reputable breeders out there that breed and show because they LOVE their dogs not because its their greed. many many times she has promised replacement puppies and rarely if at all does she follow through.

she is a thief and snake and has no conscience at all.also be aware she has multiple flunkies that do her dirty work for her and even worse she is an AKC judge!!!!!!!

Not true!!!! All lies!

Alessandra B Mep

I would never also we got a new dog and she had baby’s after baby’s after baby’s and they did that just to sell them and she’s a really playful and loving dog!!!

Guest

Yes dogs have a 48hr health guarantee. I called 1 day after buying my 9month old pup and left a message that I had a question about the dog I just bought.

This place NEVER RETURNED MY CALL. I was calling to find out why my pup's pad had a somewhat deep cut. Looks as though someone cut it when clipping her paws. She was dirty had no socialization Skills.

Never been on a leash a day in her life, like a fish flopping around out of water. Has skin issues, eyes always watery and red. I love my dog and she is a smart dog and I would never part with her. I didn't care one bit for this ladies customer service.

Not to return a customers call, was most likely thinking I got bad news from vet and wanted to return dog. It doesn't surprise me to read all about these other people's issues and complaints. I feel like I got pretty lucky that my dog only has allergy problems. I was told she had all her shots but was not given any proof.

So my vet and I decided to give her all her puppy shots just in case.

Vet said breeder usually gives u proof even if they gave shots themselves. She also showed no feelings for this dog the whole time we were there looking her over it seemed to be only money/business.

Guest

I work for her kennel along with 3 other people. We clean, feed, and give fresh water daily.

This is a bunch of lies! Too bad people must be jealous of some of the best dogs winning all over the world.

The dogs are groomed, bathed and excersized. In great shape!

Guest

NONE OF THIS IS TRUE! This is Slander, and action will be taken.

Shoreland gives a guarantee with the puppies, and the buyer is aware of what is in writing. And it is certainly untrue about the care of the dogs! They are all in show condition, and kept in great condition. The dogs have their own dog park, as the owner bought 40 acres for the dogs!

Names will be given and then there will be a law suit taken. Then we will see what is correct in court.

Guest

This is such a lie! So untrue!

Whoever wrote this should be arrested for slander............

Talk about heartless people. Get the facts straight people!

Guest

PLEASE be careful when buying from her. She breeds merle to merle and also very close breeding.

Go and see how the dogs are raised and cared for before buying from.

Your paying a lot for the pup and the parents are and litters are suffering.

Not true

Guest

I had a similar experience. I was impressed by the fact she is listed as a Hall of Fame Breeder and Judge.

I agree to be cautious if you buy from her and suggest that you go elsewhere. At least see the dog in person at her facility and don't buy sight unseen as I did. My young puppy was 9 months old when I bought her. She was sold as a show/breeder *** that was being held back so the owner of Shoreland was going to show her.

I fell for that. She said she would send me the health testing for the parents and all I received was a copy of the OFA and Cerf for the sire. Had to test her for PRA, Normal, MDR1 Carrier, HC Normal, DM Carrier. Have not done the OFA yet.

Cerf was normal. The *** was terrified in her crate, plastered herself against the back of the crate and would not move or come out. No eye contact and flinched at the touch. She was not leash trained or handled.

She went belly flat to the ground or floor if you tried to touch her. She had absolutely NO MANNERS. This behavior all goes along with being left in a kennel or crate for to many hours a day. On the good note I am still working with her and she is showing improvement.

Although slow and baby steps I have hopes she will come out of her inhibitions. She is a happy friendly dog. Just learning to trust. I would never recommend this kennel to anyone.

And when you confront her she turns the issues back at you. Does not take responsibility for anything. And did not want to know any of the testing results. Her reply was"Are you trying to find things wrong with her".

Yes, as a ethical breeder I want to know what is wrong with my dogs, genetically or personality wise so that I can breed correctly to improve. Not just make another litter of puppies.
