I purchased a puppy Dec. 2010 from Shoreland Kennel total $1,000.00
they shipped it to me with 2 eye infections and 2 birthdefects in it's eye called "MICROPTHALMIA '(MOS)
THE PUP WAS BORN WITH THIS EYE DEFECT AND CAN BE NOTICED WHEN PUPPY'E EYES OPEN--it should not have been sold but WAS!! to me---SHORELAND KENNEL never told me about this defect! I FOUND IT 1 DAY after I recieved the puppy--puppy went to vet and was confirmed it had a defect.
SHORELAND KENNEL DENIES THIS PUPPY HAS A BIRTH DEFECT AND WON'T REPLACE THIS PUPPY UNLESS I PAY TO SHIP IT BACK TO THEM! I HAVE TO PAY ! NOT THEM
THEY WANT ME TO FLY IT BACK TO CHICAGO AND THEN HIRE PRIVATE TRANSPORT TO DELIVER PUP FROM AIRPORT TO THEIR HOME !!THAT'S ALMOST $1,000.00 JUST TO RETURN PUP!!

Written by LORRAINE on March 12, 2012 from lehighton, pennsylvania, US my first dog never went "after" the puppy !! both dogs played and none bit, or hurt, or,were agressive !! you offered me another puppy yes....but not to take first pup back with shipping and then ship me a healthy pup...i had to pay for 3 shippings !! even though the whole thing was your fault its not like i didnt want the pup for what ever reason...i wanted to recieve a healthy puppy not what you sold me ! you are responsible to your clients to ship healthy animals and if not..pay to ship return and replace puppy at your expense since i payed for original pup. just to let everyone know.....shoreland never had this pup on its property...it was housed and looked after by a friend---shoreland went to pick up pup hours before delivery to airport !! shoreland told me this directly on a phone conversation between the two of us---she was going to pick up pup at friends house and drive to airport for transport !!! they didnt even raise this pup up to 10 wks--someone else did ! IM STILL WAITING FOR MY REPLACEMENT PUP !!   |

Written by lisa johnson on February 6, 2012 from -, -, US i have 3 shoreland dogs. i have two champions from two of three. now i did receive a little weird girl, and at one point was thinking of sending her back, sue agreed to take her and send another but we love her so we just know she is a different kind of dog. i have 7 border collies altogether. i have one from visions border collies in tx. and one from thompson border collies not that far from me. my oldest is 10, 11 in march. i had a litter july 23, 2010. ( the one from tx that was ranked 6th in the country in 2006) i had two people pick them up and one shipped to san diego. none of my puppy buyers have had any problems. i did have them vet checked, eyes done, before any of them went to new home. all were sold and a woman cancelled one b/c she didn't have the money for two, as she had a sick puppy. she never showed up to pick up the girl. the male we decided to keep. the female was re-sold, going to mexico, and he held her up for three weeks. he wanted her for her color. he cancelled the day i was going to the airport to have her shipped on the doggie airline. the mother of the puppies was a carrier of the eye gene, but will never get it. in border collies it is ok to have puppies from a carrier if you breed to a non carrier. i did every test i could to make sure this was a healthy litter. the two puppies we kept are the sweetest things i've ever seen and had! i hand raised these puppies and they went home for the most part, potty trained. i know sue. i believe she has tried to do what she can for healthy, show quality puppies. i do not agree with the puppy mill thing, as i also have a friend that makes a living on her dogs. she does all the test, hips, eyes and heart (in her breed they have problems) before she sends them home and believe me it is very hard work just to have and raise a litter. sue has help and i have heard horror stories before, but the two champions i got from her are very sweet and also herd. the strange little puppy (3 in april) is very sweet also. that's why we could not let her go. with border collies if you don't do your homework, you should not have one. i am the proud owner of 7 border collies, two australian shepherds and a mutt that adopted us. i will continue to have both breeds as long as i live. |
| 4. Written by Shoreland Kennel on December 28, 2011 from lagrange, indiana, US This puppy was examined thoroughly by a licensed veterinarian to receive a health certificate to travel on the flight. These people are acting like we were aware of the problem when the puppy was shipped. Of course they didn't share that there older dog was very aggressive with this puppy, and the first time they wanted to return the puppy it was because the older dog didn't get along with the puppy.. We made several recommendations to separate the puppy from this older dog, which was dominating the puppy to the point that the puppy was put in a corner having to defend itself! Never are the total stories ever shared on this kind of a site! And we did try to make amends and offered them another puppy free of charge, even though they never would return the contract they agreed upon. So there are actually NO agreements or guarantees on this puppy! |

Written by jean on December 10, 2011 from worcester, massachusetts, US Although I can understand your frustration this is exactly why I would never recommend buying a puppy sight unseen and having to have it shipped.. support your local breeders or shelters and also the bottom line is stuff happens, even to good breeders and good people so just because this one puppy was sick or not right does not mean that this person is a bad breeder, even in the best of litters a sickly puppy can arise.. |

THE DOG HAS 2 BIRTH DEFECTS !! I HAVE SPENT OVER $ 2,000.00 ON THIS PUPPY ! THE DOG IS NOW A YEAR OLD AND SHE IS GOING BLIND !! WHY CAN'T YOU MAKE A NICE GESTURE ON YOUR PART ? AND REFUND AT LEAST HALF OF THE $2,000.00 ?? HAVE SOME COMPASSION AND THAT WILL BE THE END OF THIS PROBLEM FOR BOTH OF US--AND LET ME GET ON WITH HELPING THIS POOR PUPPY HAVE A NICE LIFE BEFORE SHE TOTALLY GOES BLIND? I TRUSTED SHORELAND KENNEL !
